Hello to all my beautiful readers out there! Hope you get to read this week’s blog as I am touching on a topic dear to my heart and encourage you to aim for beauty beyond physical appearance. I am sure if I asked everyone I meet to define beauty they’d all have a different answer. Today I am here to tell you that you are beautiful regardless to your physical appearance. When it comes to beauty, the only thing that matters is how you feel about yourself. When I was growing up, I thought beauty was just about what one wore and one’s physical appearance. But as I grew older, I realized that there are two kinds of beauty; physical beauty and inner beauty, neither of which are defined by any set standard. For me, beauty starts from the inside and is seen in our actions, the way we treat other people and carry ourselves.
When I look in every beauty magazine I see mostly women who are quite thin sometimes to the point of appearing malnourished. But is really a true depiction of beauty? No, I do not think so. When we look at these colorful magazines, what we see is the physical appearance, which is oftentimes masked by layers of makeup and photo enhancements.
Today, I say to you ladies, quit trying to become as thin as a biscuit. Beauty is not defined by a single size. All you need to do is maintain a healthy weight for your height and age. And, if you are currently over on underweight, embrace your true self while working to improve. Pay close attention to what you eat, as some foods contribute to healthy skin and hair, while other foods contribute to weight gain. The aim is to be beautiful from the inside out.
Now, I am not saying you should not use makeup and false hair etc. . This is an affiliate link that tells you how you can Make Money Giving Away Free Makeup Brushes – Makeup Tutorials . All I am saying is to love yourself the way you are and become comfortable in your own skin. At the end of the day, how you feel about yourself is much more important than how others see you. If you suffer from body image disturbance it will be reflected in how you carry yourself and people will view you accordingly. I once heard the phrase “it is okay to be ugly, but it is not okay to feel ugly.” If you can only take away one thing today, please remember that “you are as beautiful as you feel.” Also pay close attention to your manner of dress. There are lots of information on line that teaches you how to dress according to your body type.
Although this article is mainly geared at women, men need to take heed too. Just as you expect women to be beautiful, women hold you to a similar standard. We expect you to take care of your body, carry yourself well, and to eat properly, and know how to approach and converse with women.
One of my favorite scripture: Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
As I grew older I realized that regardless of how you present yourself, what comes out of you will affect your image and how other people see you. And, even if you feel beautiful, I doubt you’d be able to convince anyone of your beauty if you are an evil and ugly person on the inside.
Ladies and gentlemen, take the time to reflect on who you truly are. Do you think evil thoughts all the time? Are you a severely jealous person? Do you carry your baggage along from relationship to relationship? How do you treat the people you meet? Do you remember to smile? Is the smile genuine? These are just some questions to get you thinking.
Create A balance: Inner & Outer Beauty
There is nothing more pleasing to the eye than someone who has both inner and outer beauty. When they walk in to a room or you meet them on the street you see the radiance emanating from their very being. And, when they open their mouth, the words they speak are complimentary to their appearance. You feel at ease in their presence and do not need to worry about whether they like you. For even if their spirit and yours do not blend, they are kind enough not to show it. The idea is to create a balance between your inner and outer self so that they complement each other.
